MSK Physiotherapy & Reiki
While Reiki and MSK Physiotherapy are distinct disciplines, they often work exceptionally well together to promote healing and well-being.

MSK Physiotherapy
is a specialised branch of physiotherapy that focuses on the treatment and rehabilitation of injuries and conditions affecting the muscles, bones, joints, ligaments, and tendons within the physical body.
The goal of MSK physiotherapy is to treat and guide patients through their physical healing from injury, reduce pain, improve mobility, increase strength, and enhance overall quality of life.
Reiki
is an complimentary and holistic energy therapy that works on the mental and emotional system within the body. This meditative therapy allows the body to relax which gives way for the mind to slow down and follow suit. We know that stress is a significant driver of many conditions and inhibits physical healing. Reiki promotes relaxation which in turn helps to reduce mental stress, allowing for sufficient healing.

How they complement each other
Enhanced Relaxation:
Reiki is a form of meditation which can create a more relaxed internal environment. It allows the Peripheral Nervous System to regulate into the Para-Sympathetic system (rest and digest), taking it out of the Sympathetic nervous system (fright or flight). This enables a more susceptible internal state to heal.
Improved Sleep:
Both Reiki and Physiotherapy can contribute to better sleep quality, which is essential for healing.
Feeling Calmer/Lighter:
A feeling of calm and lightness is often reported by patients after a session. This is due to the relaxation effect and the release of congested energy and tension.
Pain Management:
Reiki may help reduce pain, making it easier for patients to engage in physiotherapy exercises.
Holistic Approach:
By combining Reiki and Physiotherapy, patients can address both the physical and mental/emotional aspects of their recovery.
